There’s something about the transition from spring/summer to autumn/winter that makes me crave warmth and comfort through cosy clothes and seasonal touches around the home. While September is usually a very inspiring and creatively energetic time for me, I also tend to spend more time indoors when I can, curled up on the sofa or pottering about. What better time, then, to put together a little wish list of autumnal pieces!

One of the first things I did when the weather started to turn was to start thinking about different scents to bring in the new season. I love using essential oils in baths or on my pillow at bedtime, and frankincense stood out to me as a suitably autumnal scent, so I picked up this oil from Balm Balm*. Balm Balm’s oils are 100% organic, offering strong and long lasting fragrances and it’s been a pleasure to add a touch of seasonal magic to my routine recently with their frankincense pure oil.
I’m also a big fan of candles, so when I saw this cinnamon bun scented soy wax candle by Joik*, I couldn’t order it fast enough. While the fragrance was absolutely delicious upon simply sniffing the candle, I was a little disappointed with its strength once lit. That said, it’s won me over as the hours have gone by, and provides a subtle scent and beautiful ambience. If you’re after a candle with a less sickly scent, then this one would do nicely.
Loungewear is so much more enjoyable during the cooler months, wouldn’t you agree? This long-sleeved top from Thought clothing is made from organic materials, and would be perfect for a lazy day spent dossing around at home. In my case it’d be paired with these slippers of dreams from Toms – I’ve previously found it near impossible to find a cosy looking pair of vegan-friendly slippers, so I can’t tell you how excited I was to stumble across these.
If you’re after an alternative to candles or oils, a wax melt could be a good option. I recently discovered Moonlight Melts, who hand make soy wax melts, and I am enamoured by all of the incredible concoctions they have to offer. Magic Potion – “a magical blend of Japanese grapefruit and mandarin, Georgia peach, rich purple plums, Valencia grapes and soft rose petals on a base of Nubian musk” – appeals to me especially. Now all I need is an oil burner.
It’s no secret that I’m very into my black clay mask from Bloomtown. Face masks have become an important part of my self-care and skincare rituals, and in my hunger to try out more I have added Bloomtown’s blue clay mask to my wish list. Don’t forget that my affiliate code – NOTSOQUIET20 – gets you 20% off your Bloomtown order, should you wish to give anything a try!
Mustard has never really been my colour, but there’s nothing like the rusty, turning leaves of fall to make me wish it was! If you do live that mustard-coloured life, then you’ll adore these ochre pieces from Thought clothing – the cable-knit jumper is made from 100% organic cotton, and the scarf is made from bamboo, making both ethical additions to your A/W wardrobe.
What’s on your autumn wish list?
