I’ve managed to accumulate quite the skincare collection over the last while – from gifted products to firm favourites repurchased in advance, I seem to have no shortage of cleansers and the like. The collection has reached the point where I’ve decided I won’t buy another thing until what I have is used up – by all means, congratulate me on my inspiring self-restraint! In the meantime, I thought I’d chat to you about my top skincare picks from 2017.
I didn’t try a whole lot of new skincare last year – for my facial skincare routine especially, I stuck to tried and tested staples. However, a few standout products did emerge. It simply wouldn’t be a roundup post without mentioning the Bloomtown Black Clay and Tea Tree Treatment Mask, which has earned my deepest loyalties as go-to for blemished or lacklustre skin. Bloomtown are 100% vegan and palm-oil free, and their black clay face mask really turned my self-care routine around in 2017. I reviewed the mask back in August – if you like what you read, NOTSOQUIET20 gets you 20% off your order!
The second product I simply have to talk about is Tropic Skincare’s Instant Glow Perfecting Leg Serum*. With minimal effort, this vegan-friendly, natural tanning solution kept my pins looking bronzed like summer might never end. It did, of course, but it’s coming around quicker than we think…I’ll be prepping in advance with Tropic’s serum, which I originally reviewed in July.
The final pick of the pack is a late contender, having been introduced to me towards the end of the year. I started using Sukin’s Paw Paw Ointment* just around the change in seasons, when the weather got colder and took all my skin’s moisture away with it. My lips suffer especially, becoming sore and cracked. While nothing usually soothes them for long, let alone repairs them, Paw Paw Ointment has been just what the doctor ordered – calming my delicate lips and helping to restore them. The product is petrochemical free and benefits from castor seed oil and plant-based waxes.
As fun as it was to discover some new favourites in 2017, I’m looking forward to getting through my current stock this year. Were there any products which really stood out for you last year? Let me know in the comments.
